Please follow the "comment" link above for more information on comments, course readings, course requirements and grading.This lecture is obligatory to all students of English philology and has to be taken as the basis for all further courses in the field of literature. It aims at an introduction to contemporary critical understanding of literature/texts (including: introduction to critical terminology and to main contemporary approaches to literary analysis, teaching basic techniques and methods of scientific work, etc.) This course provides a survey of the most important literary genres (poetry, narrative texts, drama, and film). On the basis of a ion of primary texts, prosody, narrative theories, theories of drama, and approaches to film analysis will be discussed. A successful passing of this course is the precondition for any participation in further courses/modules in the field of literature. As part of the module requirements you have to pass an obligatory written test (Zentralklausur).
This is a LECTURE. Thus, there is only this one offer for the semester.
