New digital media has become an important tool in the political landscape. As citizens increasingly engage with applications like Facebook and Twitter, policy-makers are more and more relying on these communication channels as means for broadcasting and interaction. Reflecting the importance of these novel developments, there is a growing interest in understanding how the growing relevance of new media is changing public sector and approaches to public policy. Tapping into this interest, the goal of this seminar is to give students an opportunity to conduct an in-depth analysis of one topic in this area. Possible topics include, but are not limited to:
Students will be required to get a deep understanding of the topic of their choice, present theirfindings at the mid-term and final presentations and write a final paper.

Interest in new media and research methods. This class is limited to 18 students, and takes place in English. Presentations can be held in English or in German.
