The course offers a comprehensive introduction to the interdisciplinary field of computational modeling for studying language processing in the brain. Focusing on neural encoding and deep learning models, the course combines theoretical foundations in neurolinguistics and modeling with hands-on tutorials and project assignments. Students gain a solid understanding of the fundamentals, exploring both theoretical and practical aspects of computational modeling. The course encourages critical exploration of the young yet rich literature in the field. Through practical sessions, students acquire proficiency in designing studies using computational models to address questions about language processing in the brain.
