Kommentar	This course is embedded in a constructionist framework and its key tenet is that linguistic and social structures interdepend. In this sense, bicultural speakers and monocultural speakers differ from each other linguistically. After a general theoretical introduction the students will have to present different examples deviating from linguistic/cultural "monomodels" by looking at English vernaculars of minority communities in the U.S. and Great Britain as well as postcolonial Africa in which new Englishes formed.
