The advance of competence-oriented approaches to language learning and their focus on outcome have also resulted in a reconsideration of the importance of task-based language learning. Students will learn to evaluate, modify and design learning tasks which can help learners to develop their competences in various language learning areas. We will study theoretical texts and examine different tasks and task types that have been proposed in educational research, course books and competence tests. Students will also develop their own tasks and micro-teaching units, which will be discussed within the seminar.
