Writing Life, Writing Death - Einzelansicht

Many cultures, past and present, know about the close connection between life and storytelling. In this course, we will read examples of life narratives, with a particular emphasis on formative experiences and precarious moments.

Reading and viewing material will be made available on Moodle 2.

Successful completion of the introductory course on literature.

Oral presentation (10 min., no notes) on an assigned topic including handout (1200 words); due on a specified date. Later turn-ins not accepted (40 percent of the final grade). Active participation in class discussion, including surprise quizzes on assigned reading (20 percent of the final grade). Two summaries ("Protokolle") of class discussion (600 words each; 40 percent of the final grade).
