„Jetzt, da Bürokratien zurückgehen und Organisationen sich zunehmend in neue Formen verwandeln, sind unsere alten Theorien nicht mehr so relevant wie sie einmal waren.“ (Barley 2016). Mit dem zunehmenden Aufkommen neuer Formen von Organisation geraten die Vorstellungen der etablierten Organisationstheorien immer mehr ins Wanken. Phänomene wie Anonymus, Blockupy, Uber oder Vizio lassen sich immer weniger mit den klassischen Theorie-Instrumenten erfassen. In verschiedenen neuen Organisationsformen werden Mitgliedschaften zunehmend als „fluid“ beobachtet und klassische Strukturmerkmale wie Hierarchie scheinen nicht mehr generell zu passen. Im Zuge dieser Entwicklung gab es eine Reihe von Vorschlägen, wie neue Formen der Organisation adäquat theoretisiert werden könnten. Hierzu gehören: boundaryless organization, network organization, project-based organization, market organization, partial organization oder fluid organization – um nur einige zu nennen. Erst in den letzten Jahren gibt es zunehmende Versuche die verschiedenen Phänomene wieder unter einem allgemeinen Verständnis von Organisation zu vereinen. Das Seminar wird diese verschiedenen neuen Ansätze zur Entwicklung einer erneuerten Organisationstheorie diskutieren. Dabei wird hauptsächlich auf Artikel aus dem aktuellen wissenschaftlichen Diskurs zurückgegriffen. Die Voraussetzung für die Teilnahme am Seminar ist daher das Verfügen über organisationssoziologische Grundkenntnisse. Sollten Sie diese nicht haben, empfehle ich vorab lesen: Kühl, Stefan 2011: Organisationen – Eine sehr kurze Einführung, sowie: Tacke, Veronika 2010: Organisationssoziologie.
