This seminar provides a theoretical introduction to the field of Cultural Linguistics in combination with corpus linguistic methods. With the electronic corpus GloWbE we will be analyzing cultural influences on the Asian varieties of English in terms of cultural conceptualizations. Students will be required to work on their own research project in guided research sessions and present it in class at the end of the semester.
