This linguistic course introduces different terminologies, theories and systems of analyses used in online discourse studies. The course aims to engage students in integrating tools from linguistics and also social theories as a key method in analyzing the online discourse. The course also targets to encourage awareness of the ways in which discourse practices vary across social, cultural and linguistic boundaries, and how this impacts within local and global contexts.
