PARTICIPANTS MEET BUILDING 2, ROOM 2.09
In this course students will read selections from some of the key texts of Jewish religious thought over the centuries. Our close reading will ground discussion of central, evolving Jewish approaches to questions such as the nature of God, how we know (about) God, what God wants from (Jewish) people, ethics, understanding history, etc.
Readings will be in English. The class will be conducted in English.
The written assignment consists of a final research paper on a topic chosen by the student in coordination with the instructor.
