Whether you plan to do this in/on German or English is irrelevant.
This advanced course is designed to help students to achieve the following Learning Outcome: Students are able to find a topic and to develop, and ideally start pursuing, a feasible research question, for their master thesis in CA/ IL by - identifying (potential) research gaps, - taking the necessary methodological steps, - practicing the necessary basic skills, such as GAT2 transcription, sequential analysis etc., - adapting their initial project idea to their initial findings if necessary, - critically commenting on their peers’ achievements in these regards, and finally - writing a project proposal to enable them to successfully prove their CA/IL expertise by defending their approach in the colloquium (FP2) and, later, writing a stylistically and content-wise appropriate CA/IL master thesis in view of their professional careers. Requirements: successful completion of MSK3. Familiarity with basic concepts of prosody will be advantageous.
