City and country: More conflicts than cooperation?
Urban regions are often defined as functionally interlinked units. At the same time, related to spatial development cooperation beyond the administrative borders is insufficient to solve problems and fulfil development targets. Why? What are existing forms of cooperation? Who has influence on what? What are available instruments? And what is the role of land ownership in this context?
The seminar with combined project work takes up these questions and introduces to basics of applied geography, especially from the areas of urban, regional and spatial planning as well as regional development and regional policy. The spatial focus is on Germany and Europe.
In the accompanying project seminar, practical case studies will be analysed and discussed.
