In the first part, we will read the main theoretical works of David Hume, that is, An Enquiry Concerning Human Understanding and the theoretical parts of A Treatise of Human Nature, as well as ed secondary literature. In the second part, we will look at some Humean positions in contemporary metaphysics and philosophy of science, as well as at the critique of these positions. In particular, we will discuss Humean and anti-Humean accounts of natural laws and causation.
