Im Mittelpunkt des Seminars stehen Texte des außergewöhnlichen Erzählers und Dramatikers Nikolaj Gogol (1809-1852), den Vladimir Nabokov in seiner Gogol-Biographie als "wunderlichsten Prosapoeten, den Russland je hervorbrachte",treffend charakterisiert hat.
