PLEASE NOTE: The second seminar bloc day will be announced shortly.
This seminar addresses recent debates in political science and public administration research on policy formulation and service delivery in the digital age. Governments worldwide need to adapt and apply novel information and communication technologies (ICT) such as big data analytics or exploit the utilization of artificial intelligence but that they are also crucial actors in shaping the future governance of such digital tools by governments, businesses, non-state actors, and societies at large. We discuss key theoretical perspectives explaining these governmental activities and we compare the current state of digital governance in various political settings, incl. the US and the EU.
