Successful learning with digital technology often relies on students’ ability to self-regulate their learning, that is, to set goals, to plan how to learn, monitor progress, and to choose strategies that foster goal attainment. Self-regulated learning is often challenging for students at all ages. At the same time, digital media can be used to foster and support students’ self-regulated learning. In this seminar, these two aspects of the role of self-regulated learning for learning with digital technology and their implications for using technology for teaching will be discussed.
