In small teams, students undertake a course project involving software development and evaluation on authentic data. Topics will be suggested by the instructor in the first weeks of the semester.
The course starts with introductory lectures on the topics of sentiment analysis (the automatic search for opinions or emotions in text) and argument mining (the search for claims and their supporting "premises"). Thereafter, several specific aspects will be covered in more depth, which leads to a selection of project topics that will be assigned to teams of students.
