Alternations between cumulative and separative exponence - Einzelansicht

The seminar will survey various theoretical approaches to alternations between separative and cumulative (i.e. multiple- and single-exponent) exponence patterns—i.e. alternations like the one between ordinals ten-th and second (cf. *two-th ) in English. In particular, we will focus on the recourse to operations such as Fusion and Fission in Distributed Morphology, as well as on more innovative solutions exploring the possibility of non-terminal spell-out (phrasal spell-out in Nanosyntax, Spans, and more).
