This course aims to offer a general overview of a complex period of Roman history as the 3rd century CE, especially the period between the death of Severus Alexander and the rise of Diocletian (235-284 CE). The lesson will be focused on the investigation of the literary, epigraphic and numismatic sources to understand the main political, social and economic features of this period.
At the end of the course, the students will be able to deal with varied types of sources and to examine in depth an important period of transformations for the Roman Empire.
