Description:
The course provides the participants with some of the tools which are necessary and helpful to solvemodern dynamic macroeconomic models numerically. The course alternates between lecture styleand practical sessions using MATLAB.
Requirements:Participants should have some prior knowledge in dynamic macroeconomics and some experiencewith dynamics economics models. It is also helpful if the participants experience fun in doing solvingmodels with the help of computer.
Contents:– Dynamics of the Solow growth model– Cyclical and complex dynamics– Function approximation– Numerical solution of intertemporal consumption problems– Numerical solutions of deterministic and stochastic Ramsey models– Models with heterogeneous agents
