Climate Poetry - Einzelansicht

Climate poetry offers a unique, often highly personal and emotional angle on the pressing contemporary problems of anthropogenic climate change and climate catastrophe. By exploring anglophone perspectives from around the world, as well as their critical and cultural contexts, we will attempt to create an overview of possible critical approaches to climate poetry and its poetic, aesthetic as well as ethical and critical functions. We will use a hands-on approach that will allow you to come up with your own reading questions and interpretations for various texts, as well as work in groups to research and compile background information in preparation of our in-person meetings at the end of July. All seminar texts will be made available online. To be admitted to the block phase in July, please also make sure to attend the preparatory online meetings on 26 April and 17 May (please note that the orginal date for the second session was 3 May, but this meeting has been moved to 17 May!) where the reading list and workload will be distributed.
