Jewish Festivals: From the Talmud to the Shulkhan Arukh - Einzelansicht

This course will examine the development of selected Halakhaic issues from the set of the Jewish Festivals: The Seder of Passover; Sabbath and Yom Tov prohibitions; Hanukah and Hanukiya Candles, Purim’s Seuda (Meal).

This course will offer close critical and historical readings of these selected texts from the Talmud and the later medieval Halakhic discussions – ending the journey with the Shulkhan Arukh of R. Joseph Karo from the 16^th century.
