The course assessment is based on a seminar paper and a presentation. The topics of the seminar papers will be decided during our first meetings. 

The seminar aims at providing knowledge on labour economic theory and commonly used empirical methods. The seminar will start with two sessions on the empirical methods at the beginning of the term. The methods we are going to discuss are difference-in differences, instrumental variable estimation and regression discontinuity design. Previous basic knowledge of these methods is an assest. The remaining meetings will largely proceed as discussions. Before each meeting the respective topic will be announced. Students are expected to read the material beforehand and prepare discussion questions and topics.
