Political protest and social movements

This seminar is dedicated to different forms of protest and social movements from a comparative perspective. On the basis of important theories of
social movements, we discuss ecological protest movements, forms against action against globalization, as well as political protest against democratic
backsliding and non-democratic regimes. The focus is on the empirical and comparative perspective on the social context of origin, the
various topics, the types of protest, the structure of the participants, as well as the communication and external representation of the movement.
