Speaking skills are an important part of language competence. In this course we are going to study the processes involved in the development of speaking skills and discuss how to design effective classroom activities to encourage learners to speak and interact in class. Taking a look at different examples from the primary school classroom (using e.g. stories, games, mini-dialogues, role play and discussion activities), we will focus on material/task design and address questions of differentiation, error correction, feedback and assessment. Participants will design short lesson plans and material to be used in the classroom.
Please note: Once you have signed up and been admitted on PULS, you will receive an email via PULS to let you know how to access the Moodle course. If you can not (yet) access PULS and you are interested in taking this course, please send me an email.
