Wuthering Heights was Emily Brontë's only work of fiction but it has sparked the interest of generations of readers and literary critics alike. In this seminar, we will not only deal with Marxist, feminist and postcolonial readings of the novel (and thus deepen our knowledge of literary theories), but also look at a number of screen adaptations, which will allow us a look at the cultural landscapes that shaped them. Please purchase and read the Penguin Classics edition of the novel well in advance.
