Software has become a precious part of our cultural heritage. The Software Heritage (SWH) Project (https://www.softwareheritage.org/) aims to build a universal software archive. It collects and preserves software in source code form, because software embodies our technical and scientific knowledge, and humanity cannot afford the risk of losing it.
In this seminar we will learn more about the Software Heritage Project and its mission, and take a closer look at the various technical and social aspects that are involved. To this end, participants will read, present and summarize publications and other material on different topics relevant to the SWH project.
