There will be a short introduction to this module on Monday, 17.04.2023 from 14:30 to 15:00 in Haus 9, Room 1.22. Participation is recommended.
In this module, students will work on projects that are proposed by one or more members of the research groups at the Institute of Mathematics.
Each student will find a supervisor for their work on this project The supervisor will propose a topic and assignments that lead to the preparation of a written report.
The aim of the course is for students to gain experience with reading, doing and writing about scientific research, and thereby to prepare for the Master's Thesis.
The topic and supervisor of the academic reading and writing module need not be the same as the topic and supervisor for the master's thesis.
Important:
To be granted access to the Moodle page, please print to a PDF file your academic transcript from PULS. The transcript should include your name and ID number, the list of courses you have taken and the grades you received for the course. Please e-mail this PDF file to Prof. Lie.
Students must submit a written report on a topic assigned by their supervisor. The report will be graded. The supervisor may require that the student complete other assignments as preparation for the written report.

This course is for students in the Master of Science in Mathematics program.
Students who wish to take this course are recommended to have completed at least 42 LP worth of mathematics courses.
