Kurzkommentar

There will be a short introduction to this module on Monday, 17.04.2023 from 14:30 to 15:00 in Haus 9, Room 1.22. Participation is recommended.

Kommentar

In this module, students will work on projects that are proposed by one or more members of the research groups at the Institute of Mathematics.

Each student will find a supervisor for their work on this project The supervisor will propose a topic and assignments that lead to the preparation of a written report.

The aim of the course is for students to gain experience with reading, doing and writing about scientific research, and thereby to prepare for the Master's Thesis.

The topic and supervisor of the academic reading and writing module need not be the same as the topic and supervisor for the master's thesis.

Important:

  • Participants are required to follow the principles of good academic practice, as described in the University of Potsdam's guidelines (English version).
  • Students are strongly recommended to find a supervisor and agree on a topic before the end of the registration, enrollment, and withdrawal period for courses, as stated in the academic calendar.
  • There will be no regular meetings for students taking this module. Instead, students are expected to meet their supervisor.
Bemerkung

To be granted access to the Moodle page, please print to a PDF file your academic transcript from PULS. The transcript should include your name and ID number, the list of courses you have taken and the grades you received for the course. Please e-mail this PDF file to Prof. Lie.

Leistungsnachweis
