This course explores the rich and diverse literary traditions of Australia's First Nations peoples. Through a selection of contemporary and historical texts, students will engage with Indigenous voices, stories, and perspectives. We will examine the ways in which First Nations writers use literature as a medium for self-expression, cultural preservation, and social commentary. Additionally, this course will delve into the socio-political context in which these texts are situated and consider the broader implications of Indigenous storytelling in Australia.
