  • Interview paper of 30.0000 characters (all inclusive; +/- 10%) on ”What do public managers really do and how do they cope with their challenges"
Lerninhalte

The course will provide an advanced introduction to public management and its fundamental functions and issues. Focusing on the specific context of public sector organizations, it will be an overview regarding the particular context, managing resources, leadership, organizing, and the challenges of managing strategy and performance. Therefore, major reform approaches will be mentioned, as well as governance-related issues. Based on the textbook by Owen Hughes (“Public Management & Administration. An Introduction”) major functions and challenges of managing public organizations will be analyzed and discussed. Both theoretical perspectives and practical tools are taken into account.
