Text, Discourse, Communication - Einzelansicht

This class concerns linguistics beyond the sentence level. It sheds light on text, discourse and communication from a linguistic perspective, which will enable students to critically assess larger pieces of communication. After attending this class, participants are expected to be able to show understanding of, and apply, models and concepts discussed in class, such as
- discourse and context
- language and society
- Conversation Analysis (CA)
- Text linguistics and textuality
Participants are also expected to be able to present their thoughts in a suitable (spoken and written) manner, so that they later can access these skills, both in advanced classes concerned with the subject matter and in their working environment.
