This intensive course runs for two weeks, Monday through Friday, with daily in-person sessions and self-learning practical work. It's designed for both beginners and those with some experience in digital image analysis who want to deepen their knowledge. The course covers the basics of image processing, introduces useful software tools, and uses real-world examples to teach you how to perform your own image analysis. Having a laptop is helpful but not required. If you need a laptop, contact Dr. Schneider beforehand. After completing the course, you'll be able to independently use image analysis in both research and private sector work.
This practical course is intended for up to 8 Master students who combine it with the lecture and seminar ”Current Aspects and Methods of Plant Cell Biology” by Prof. Markus Grebe. If places are still available after the registration deadline, they will be allocated at random among the registered students who wish to combine the practical course with another lecture/seminar from BIO-B-WM4, BIO-B-WM5, or BIO-B-WM6.
