Course description / Kursbeschreibung
The focus of the course is the further development of professional language and communication skills for use in a legal context. Topics include contract drafting, redlining and negotiation, client interviews, alternative dispute resolution and the use of plain English in a legal context. The four key skills of reading, writing, listening and speaking are developed and tested.
On successful completion students will receive a UNIcert certificate to prove their level at C1 CEFR.
Classes on 24th October are due to take place on Zoom.

All materials will be provided via Moodle.
Testing / Leistungserfassung
4 tests: reading, writing, speaking, listening (at the end of the lecture period)
Credits / LP
UNIcert III (C1 level) certificate and 6 credits (Leistungspunkte) or 6 ECTS points if these requirements are met: 80 % attendance and active course participation; a score of at least 55% in each section of the UNIcert III exam.
