Description Please follow the "comment" link above for more information on comments, course readings, course requirements and grading.

Building on the overview of morphology presented in the introductory linguistics courses, this course will provide a more in-depth picture of the morphological structure of English words. We will take a closer look at the notion of word, the various elements of which words can be composed, the different types of morphemes, at morphological phenomena such as inflection and derivation, the internal structure of compounds, and at the kinds of word formation processes which have made the word inventory of the English language what it is today.
Literature The readings will be announced in the first session.
Certificates Credit requirements will be announced in the first session.
