Five models will provide the theoretical framework for this course: Kachru´s Three Circle Model, Schneider’s Dynamic Model, Hansen’s Linguistic Situation Model, Leitner’s Habitat Model, and Anchimbe’s Filtration Model. Against this theoretical background, a range of Asian Englishes will be discussed, representing different geographical regions as well as outer circle and expanding circle varieties.
