In this course, a continuation of the previous semester, students will read ions from some of the key texts of Jewish religious thought from the modern era. Our close reading will ground discussion of central, evolving Jewish approaches to questions such as the nature of God, how we know (about) God, what God wants from (Jewish) people, ethics, understanding history, etc. Readings will be in English. The class will be conducted in English.
