This seminar presents Cultural Linguistics as a comprehensive framework for the analysis of the socio-cultural dimension of language and language variation. With a specific focus on first- and second-language varieties of English, case studies will be discussed in which cultural-linguistic methods have been fruitfully applied in this respect.
