Kommentar	<p style="margin-bottom: 0cm; line-height: 100%;">”Queer” as a concept emerging from feminist and gay and lesbian studies is less an identity than a critique of identity. Depending on context, ”genderqueer” might mean a self-identity that emerges from an ‘artificial’ or artistic production or performance, or the search for an alternative in order to protest homonormativity, that is, the increasing normalization of gay and lesbian culture (as in debates around same-sex marriage). This seminar will begin with key theories of gender and queer studies before moving on to theoretical and artistic positions concerned with the performative deconstruction of binary gender systems.</p><p style="margin-bottom: 0cm; line-height: 100%;">This course will be held and taught together with Dr. Geraldine Spiekermann from the Department of Arts and Media.</p><p><strong>NOTE: This class will take place in room 1.22.0.38!</strong></p>
