This course will provide the introduction to a spectrum of concepts and issues connected to the (Trans)Pacific Studies focusing on the nineteenth century exploration, colonization and their aftermaths in the region. The postcolonial theories and concepts which will be discussed in the seminar will enable the students to get experience in their practical application as well as the critical work with historical (colonial) texts.
