In this seminar you will look into the models and concepts that explain how learners acquire vocabulary, and how this process can be supported in the foreign language classroom. The topic will be examined through ”a multilingual lens” as the perspective of a multilingual learner will be taken both on a theoretical and a concrete level. You will evaluate and create materials to facilitate the vocabulary learning of a multilingual learner group. For this purpose the seminar includes min. one school visit in a Berlinian school, for which an observation instrument will be developed and filled.NOTE: The seminar evaluation will be based on the two products developed during the seminar: the observation instrument argumentation on the material developed (academic paper).
