Description Please follow the "comment" link above for more information on comments, course readings, course requirements and grading.

The seminar deals with Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) and Bilingualer Sachfachunterricht as a dual-focused educational approach in which a foreign or second language is used for the learning and teaching of both language and content. The aim of this course is to familiarize participants with the basic theories, principles and methodological options of CLIL in the context of various school subjects (e.g. Geography, History, Politics/Civic Education, Biology). Advantages and disadvantages of this particular didactical approach as well as current research findings concerned with bilingual teaching and learning will be discussed enabling participants to make informed choices when developing curricular units.
