Description

This research colloquium provides students in Anglophone Modernities with the opportunity to study and critically engage with various current approaches to literary and cultural studies. Advanced students can also present their own MA projects and receive feedback. In addition, we will make time to discuss the process of writing an MA thesis. Attention: the central approaches discussed in this particular colloquium are poststructuralism/deconstruction, postcolonialism, and ecocriticism.

Please note that Students who took last semester's colloquium with Prof. Waller should NOT enrol in this colloquium.

Literature

A course reader will be provided on moodle. Attention: the central approaches discussed in this particular colloquium are poststructuralism/deconstruction, postcolonialism, and ecocriticism.

Remarks

Students will write a short paper using one of the studied theoretical approaches to interpret a short text provided in class. Students taking the class as "Colloquium 263713 with presentation" will present from their MA thesis and hand in a short written version of the presentation.
