Description	Die LV findet im Raum 1.02.2.06 statt. Readings in Talmud and Medieval commentaries, focusing on ed sugyot from the Talmud Bavli, with Rashi, Tosafot, and Meiri commentaries. Students will prepare for class by reading and comprehending the Talmudic discussions and Rashi’s comments, and in class we will read and analyze the synthesizing commentaries of the Tosafot and Menahem Ha-meiri. By exploring these commentaries we will study the different approaches of the Northern (Tosafot) and Southern (Meiri) French schools of Rabbinic exegesis and consider the impact they had on the evolving Jewish legal tradition.
