Description

This course introduces students to the main research paradigms in comparative political behavior. Voting in a comparative perspective constitutes one key topic of this class. Students learn how voters deal with the complexities of their respective political systems, and why certain patterns of political behavior arise. We will cover the dominant general models of turnout and vote choice. Moreover, the course analyzes how political institutions condition these behaviors. Finally, the course will cover other types of political participation in a comparative perspective.
