Seminar by Prof. Dr. Matthias Kalkuhl and Dr. Nicolas Koch (MCC Berlin)
In this seminar, we will study how to empirically evaluate climate policy and environmental policy. Focus will be on state-of-the art econometric techniques to identify causal effects of policies on key outcome variables (e.g. emissions, costs, prices). Examples of policies studied are carbon prices, fuel efficiency standards, or information policies, among others. Students read and present academic papers, discuss them in class and finally develop a short research design for an empirical policy impact analysis.
Will be published in moodle.
Basic courses in econometrics and public / political economics.
