This project starts from Franz Rosenzweig’s idea that Judaism is metahistorical because it has a direct connection with eternity. It class is inspired by the question that arises from this: how to balance history and eternity and how does this shape our current world? These questions will form a point of entry for approaching a sample of modern and contemporary historians, theologians, artists and science fiction writers who approach ideas of Jewish times and temporalities in the past and its echoes and impacts in the imagining of futures and even the building of new worlds.
