Registered participants of this class will be able to gain credits for the module "PHY_731s: Advanced Topics of Solid State Physics".

To gain these credits, students will need to (i) submit solutions for all homework questions on time, (ii) prepare and present one seminar, and (iii) pass a 30-minute oral exam at the end of the semester.

This class will be conducted online via Zoom. Lectures will be given live every Wednesday between 16:15 and 17:45. The seminar talks will be arranged for the second half of the semester and the topics will be discussed on the first lecture on 3 November 2020. Recitations will take place every Friday between 09:15 and 10:00.

Lectures will be recorded and will be made available to all registered participants for the duration of the semester. You are free to choose to attend the lecture live or to watch the videos later. If you participate in the live stream you will be able to ask questions via audio or via the chat. Please note that your audio will be recorded if you choose to ask your questions via voice. Chat messages will not be recorded. Because of the possibility of being part of the recording, we ask all live participants to sign the declaration of consent that you can find in the documents section. You will need to send the signed form to felix.buettner.1@uni-potsdam.de before the first live lecture that you participate in. We can only admit those who have signed the form. Note that your signature will be valid for the entire semester, unless you decide to revoke it.

In the declaration of consent, you will find a text field ”Bitte  Kontaktdaten  des  Instituts/des  Lehrstuhls/der  Einrichtung,  welche  das  Online‐Meeting durchführt und aufzeichnet, eintragen”. There, please enter the following:

Institut für Physik und Astronomie

Kontakt: Prof. Matias Bargheer, bargheer@uni-potsdam.de

and

Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin

Kontakt: Dr. Felix Büttner, felix.buettner@helmholtz-berlin.de

Seminars and recitations will not be recorded.

Below is the information on the access the live lecture until Christmas. We will provide details on the 2021 slots in due time.
