The course is designed as an introduction to generic aspects of English
poetry since the late 18th century. It focuses on basic contemporary methods and approaches of analysis and introduces the students to aesthetic concepts in English poetry. In its survey character, this course will cover both
highlights of British canonized poetry/movements and more marginal voices
this approach will include inherent or explicit problematisations of aspects of
e.g. gender and ethnic identity.

This course will be a hybrid online seminar with synchronous and asynchronous phases. The online session with life meetings in a forthnightly rhythm. This will require you (!) to be online for a Zoom meeting during course times every 2 weeks! You should therefore make sure that you reserve the regular seminar slot for this course.
Leistungsnachweis Testat requirement vary with study programmes. Basically 20 min presentation during the term.
