This course explores a diverse selection of British and US-American gothic writing, from the eighteen-century up to the present day. This course addresses key histories, themes, and conventions associated with the gothic, to encourage critical reflection of the texts. Special attention will be paid to psychoanalytical concepts such as the uncanny, the abject, and the sublime. This course will be online, it has mostly asynchronous elements with a few synchronous elements.
