Humanistic commandments: Between Man and his Fellow Man: Journey in the Sources from the Bible via the Talmudic literature to the Modern Jewish Law - Einzelansicht

This course is intended for advanced students, i.e. for students which have the ability to understand the original texts from the Hebrew Bible, Mishnah, Tosefta, Talmud, Rambam and Shulhan Arukh in the Hebrew original sources (the booklet of the sources is in Hebrew, although during the reading we would translate the texts into English for the sake of those who have difficulty in understanding the text). The example that will serve us as a case-study in this course would be the law in Deuteronomy 19, 14: "Thou shalt not remove thy neighbour's landmark, which they of old time have set in thine inheritance, which thou shalt inherit in the land that the Lord thy God given thee to possess it". 

The course will be conducted in English, accompanied by Hebrew texts.
